The full list

What can Kalku do?

More than you'd think for something you just talk to. Here's the whole diary — every kind of thing you can tell it, and everything it gives back.

Log what happened

The everyday — in whatever form it reaches you.

  • Spends and income, one message at a time
  • Reel off a whole day at once — Kalku splits it into entries
  • Send a voice note — Kalku listens
  • Snap a receipt — Kalku reads it
  • Forward a bank statement PDF and Kalku logs the historyPaid plan
  • Categories and locations tagged for you

Money between people

Every naira that changes hands, and who it belongs to.

  • Loans you gave and loans you took
  • Gifts given and gifts received
  • IOUs — money owed to you, and money you owe
  • Repayments and settle-ups
  • Split a bill across people
  • Forgive a loan — turn it into a gift
  • Overdue? Kalku flags it — and can draft the nudge to send them
  • See everyone in your ledger, and a running “who owes who”

Cash & savings

Moving your own money around still gets remembered.

  • Cash withdrawals and deposits (bank ↔ cash)
  • Put money into savings, take it back out
  • Set a savings goal and chip away at it

Plans that run themselves

Set it once; Kalku keeps the count.

  • Budgets by category
  • Recurring bills — rent, subscriptions, salaries
  • Pause, resume or end a recurring entry
  • Track goals; abandon one if plans change

See the whole picture

Your diary, read back to you any way you need it.

  • Balance, plus week / month / year summaries
  • A tax estimate, so the season holds no surprisesPaid plan
  • Net position rolled up across every currency you holdPaid plan
  • Search your whole history
  • A PDF report whenever you want onePaid plan
  • Export it all as CSV or JSON — or delete it, any time

Just ask

No menus. Ask in your own words.

  • “Where did my money go in June?”
  • “How much do I owe Bola?”
  • Free-form questions about your own diary
  • Not sure what you meant? Kalku asks — it never guesses
  • Tell Kalku when something’s off — your feedback gets passed on

When life changes

Corrections, breaks, and moving countries — all handled.

  • Edit, delete or undo any entry
  • Duplicate entries get caught before they stick
  • Vacation mode — while you travel, spending logs in the local currency and converts back home for youPaid plan
  • Japa mode — move countries and a new-currency account opens the day you land, the old one untouchedOdogwu only
  • Keep more than one account and switch between them
  • Archive an account you’re done with
  • A PIN guards the sensitive actions

On your terms

Wherever you are, in whatever you speak.

  • English, Pidgin, Yorùbá, Hausa and Igbo
  • Kalku detects your language and replies in kind
  • WhatsApp, Telegram and the web — one diary underneath
  • Install the web app on your phone
  • Refer a friend — you both earn extra capacity

Anything marked Paid plan opens up once you subscribe (Japa is on Odogwu, the top plan). Everything else is yours on the free plan. See what's on each plan.

Just as important

And a few things Kalku won't do.

Move your money

Kalku is a diary, not a bank. It records — it never sends, holds or touches a naira.

Give you financial advice

“Should I buy this?” isn’t Kalku’s job. It shows you what happened; the call stays yours.

Shame you

No red frowny faces, no lectures. Kalku logs the truth and keeps its opinions to itself.

Blow up your phone

Only the nudges you ask for. Silence is fine — Kalku won’t beg you to come back.

That's the list

So — what will you log first?

You don't have to remember any of this. Just say what happened, and Kalku takes it from there.

Track today, thank yourself tomorrow.
